How grass-fed beef benefits monarch butterflies

How grass-fed beef benefits monarch butterflies

Our pastures have consistently hosted hundreds and thousands of Monarch butterflies in the Fall as they stop by on their migration south to Mexico.

The way we raise our grass-fed beef cattle plays an important role in facilitating this. Take a look to learn more!

If it wasn't for our 100% grass-fed beef herd, this habitat wouldn't be here. The cattle coexist with these creatures, along with birds, bees, and others in this flourishing grassland habitat. Before we started raising grass-fed beef, this land was planted with corn and soybeans. Switching has allowed us to plant diverse pastures that provide abundant food throughout the seasons for our livestock and the wildlife that also live here.

When you buy grass-fed beef, you are supporting wildlife habitat, soil health, and so much more. You can see the "confetti effect" of the roosting clusters flushing from the trees in the image below.

The beef and butterflies both feed on the blooming red clover in the fall. Because we rotate our cattle in small paddocks across our pastures, there is plenty of food available for all.

As your farmers, we will always do our best to take care of the land, the animals, and the food you trust us to produce to ensure a healthier future for generations to come.
